How do you reconcile with someone you haven’t talked to in such a long time?
You don’t. You forget about the person and the person forgets about you.
I guess, we are a proof of why and how long-distance “relationships” will never work out, at least for me. I know you’re thinking it’s not yet too late to make it up to you, but that’s my problem, too. What do we do when we make up? We’re going to end up at this same spot again: both of us left regretful and maybe even angry.
Surely though, we’re both left disappointed at ourselves and each other. Maybe that’s the price of labels, too. They raise expectations. Actually, they impose responsibilities. Still, I agreed to having them because labels mean assurance.
I just want to tell you that I’m sorry I didn’t try and am not trying hard enough to live up to my duties to you. And, if it happens that we both agree this will be the last time we’ll find ourselves here, at this point, then allow me to thank you one last time.
See you around, partner. Or not.
